as a kid i thought so. now that i have in-laws im not so sure anymore.
its very stressful, we have to give presents to all of my husbands siblings and their wifes and husbands plus the kids and if we dont, then the dad gets mad at us or at my husband.
i think his family and maybe lots of families have lost the meaning of christmas. i dont think it was suppose to be about getting and giving presents until you are broke. plus if in your family theres children, i think they should be the ones getting the presents. the kids are always excited about the presents and its normal. they are more happy, and waiting with patience to be 25th.
this month i totally have lost the feeling i use to have, it feels like it was a long time ago now, unfortunately, because it use to be the best time in the world.

I agree that it can be, but it can also be a terribly difficult time for many so compassion & understanding is especially important.

Yes! Because... There'll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow. There'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long long ago

I looked forward to it more when I was younger, but it is still a joyous time.
