Every day for the last few weeks, a cardinal (red bird) had sat on the branches outside our living room window. For hours it taps on the window, flies away for a moment, then comes back and taps again. Is this some kind of omen? Thanks in advance!

Cardinals reflect a need to be more careful about your diet That what you are eating may be injurious to your self and affecting your overall vitality. They also reflect past life connections, connections with the church, or even reviving of more traditional religious beliefs, regardless of denomination. When they appear, they do so to remind us to become more like them: they have a loud clear whistle so pay attention to what's "blowing on the winds" and recognize importance in your own life roles. Listen to your inner voice more closely for your own health and well-being.

No, cardinals are a baseball team! And your feathered visitor is just exploring and indulging his curiosity. Birds are bright critters, and very adventurous, believe it or not. It's nothing more than that. It's a rare treat to get to see one so often so close up, so enjoy!

Do you live in Kentucky? If so, then it's an omen that you live in Kentucky, or that you're a University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. Cardinals are their arch nemesis. Also, if it starts saying, "Nevermore.", I'd buy a BB gun.

No cardinals are a bird, not an omen.

ANimals speak to us about our own lives and the world around us, we just need to pay a bit of attention listen to what they are saying.

The cardinal represents self-acknowledgement. In most of Cardinal's habitats, He is non-migratory. As such, Cardinal is present year-round - the way you should be self-aware every day of your life.
Cardinal's call is piercing. He calls you to recognize your accomplishment and acknowledge your importance in the scheme of things - to toot your own horn!
We often take upon ourselves so much societal, familial, religious and institutional blame and guilt, we forget we came into this life with our own valid set of goals, as worthy of our efforts as anyone one else's are. We are asked, "Whose life is this, anyway?"
Both male and female Cardinal vocalizes. In this, we are reminded of both natures within each of us - the balance of life, the inner self and outside world. We are being called to balance ourselves within this world, so we can see what we have accomplished for ours soul's spiritual goals - rather than always being focused outside of ourselves on the goals which others (parents, teachers, friends, clergy, administrations, "emperors") think we should feel should be our goals.
Cardinal is named for high-ranking members of the Roman Catholic Church.
Cardinal's arrival in your life may be a reminder of past lives, dedicated to spreading religious/thought systems.
Cardinal may be warning you to allow others to have their belief systems, their own accomplishments, their own goals.
Cardinal reminds us that we each have a path. You can't walk mine, nor I yours! Find your path and walk it. And allow me to find mine, to walk or stray from as I shall.
