The title didn't surprise me because I was expecting it to have something to do with spirit or a religious meaning. Since 'hallow' basically means to make something sacred, and the title is Deathly Hallows, then this must mean that Harry is going to become sacred or achieve some kind of state of human superiority by means that have to do with death. That's just my conclusion and my own theory, but it is supported by other theories I have read on websites.
There's this website that analyzes the Alchemy meaning in HP and so far they've been right about everything. They even predicted that the title will have a religious meaning and it seems like they were right. You should definitely check their site for more info on what will happen in the last book:http://www.harrypotterforseekers.com/
As for Ron and Hermione getting together, I'm almost positive that they will become a couple in the last book. I'm not sure if they will REMAIN a couple, but they will get together because the attraction between them has been growing stronger with each volume, and this has to lead somewhere, right?
I'm sure Harry and Hermione won't get together though! When I read the first book, I wanted them to, I thought they would make a cute couple. But as the books progressed it became obvious that they are nothing more than friends and that if there is going to be a couple, it will be Ron and Hermione. Even JKR herself stated in an interview that Harry & Hermione shippers are not based on canon and that the couple will never happen.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Im not too excited about the title,it could have been something better. But i still cant wait for the book. If both Ron and Hermione are still alive, i would expect them to get together.

I know that Voldemort has to die somehow. I am thinking that Wormtail might play a part(Book three, the whole thing with how Harry and Wormtail have connected souls due to Harry's decision to spare Wormtail). It is more likely that Hermione and Ron would get together, but I still think that a different couple is likely. Still, I think that everyone was thinking Harry and Hermione, but it was a surprise for Harry and Ginny. In book four, however, there was some evidence...

Well I think it'll be Hermione and Ron who get together and I also think that Harry Potter Kills Voldermort(sorry bout the spelling) and also I think that Hermione and Ron get together in the begining of the book and one of the 2 dies helping Harry,Harry will be devistated and even more angry at Voldermort for this and will help him suceed in kiling Voldermort(again sorry for the spelling mistakes) but anyways There's my thoughts on the book ;)

As far as I can see, the couples are Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione, Neville and Luna Lovegood.
I think there will be lots of surprises, but one thing we can count on is that the portrait of Dumbledore in McGonagall's office will play a key role.
BTW, Borders said it was DEATHLY Hallows, not Deadly. What's your source?

Well i definitely think Ron and Hermione will end up together - it's been leading up to that since book 1. I am really keeping my hopes up as to harry - I dont want him to die!!! As for the title, I like it - it has mystery to it.

I think Ron and Hermione will get together. J.K. Rowling said that Harry will die, so will Lord Voldermont, they are connected somehow, and J.K. Rowling said she will kill Harry so when she is dead, so no one can bring him back and write another book about him. But, what doesn't sit right with me, is he lives in a world of magic, can't they bring people back from the dead. I'm sad that this will be her last book, yeah she should write another ones, seven is not enough.

It is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
I am very excited! I looked up Hallow in the online Webster dictionary. It means to make holy devoted or venerate. It's opposite is to desecrate.
When I ran the Microsoft Thesaurus is gave me consecrate or make holy.
Sounds like maybe it is referring to deatheaters or dementors. Possibly Jo is referring to the death eaters as a deadly cult.
Also, James and Lily made their home in Godric’s Hollow, which is quite close to hallow. It would be poetic justice if Voldy died where he killed Harry’s parents.

its Deathly Hallows, not Deadly Hallows. It's Harry and Ginny, and Ron and Hermione. and Voldemort will probably die, hopefully all of the Malfoys die, especially Draco...... He is just stupid. Wormtail plays some part probably, and Harry will POSSIBLY die. It is NOT definite. SOMEBODY will die, you can be sure of that.
