Dream Girls?

I have always been kind of a big Beyonce fan and I plan to go see dreamgirls. I was listening to the radio the other day and Beyonce was doing a radio interview and she was asked about the rumours of her and Jennifer Hudson having catfights on the set. She then proceeded to say that she doesnt know why people keep making up these negative things. She also said that "I won nine grammys and i dont need this movie to prove to people that I can sing. Everybody knows i can sing and I have already established that. Its Jennifers is also an amazing singer." To me.. she came off a bit arrogant and jealous because Jennifer has been getting a lot of attention for her role as Effie, and lets face it.. Jennifer can sing her *** off and more. What do you think? Oh and whats up with the other actress? She's like the third wheel, I dont even know her name

I think that the media is definitely trying to portray Beyonce as the diva, just b/c Jennifer Hudson (the new comer) is getting a lot of the attention. I think Beyonce's quote can be interpreted as arrogant, but I also think that she is saying that as an accomplished artist (who has nine grammy's), she has nothing to prove singing wise. Jennifer on the other hand hasn't had the success that she's had in singing or acting, therefore Beyonce doesn't have a problem taking the backseat to someone who has everything to prove. I also agree with you regarding Jennifer's singing ability. I've listened to her version of "And I am Telling You (I'm Not Going) and it was AMAZING, and from what I hear her acting was also. Also, I think it's sad that no one ever mentions Anika Noni Rose. Sure, she's not famous, but I'm sure she had to earn her place in the cast.

OK here it is: This movie was suppose to be BEYONCE's Movie the greatest black Broadway play finally made into a movie and beyonce has the lead (Eddie muprhy and Jamie foxx) Oscar winning Jamie foxx, Jennifer was just suppose to be background like the other girl but the fact that Jennifer Hudson sings the show stopper that everyone has heard of previously (Jennifer Holiday was the original songstress of that in the Broadway version) and the fact she can act is why she is getting all the buzz and Plus the fact Jennifer Hudson SINGS BETTER than beyonce and now the world knows it

Yeah, a totally get your last point...that poor no-name actress had a forgetable part and she's getting no credit for this role. I have no clue what her name is, and sadly I don't care enough to google her (her performance was just not up to par with beyonce and jennifer). However, I have to say that they did give Jennifer the better role and I think Beyonce deserved it, Beyonce is the bigger actress. Although, I agree with you that Jennifer has great pipes, Beyonce is the diva and has the voice to be one.

of course, i love beyonce but she is really arrogant. jennifer hudson is a new star and it's only fair that at least people talk about her breakout role.

Well, I didn't tune in to the interview, but I know that Beyonce CAN get a lil' arrogant from time to time. It's just the way she is. I don't think she means any harm.
