I was curious...I watched the movie and read the book "Flags of our Fathers". Between the movie (just the movie, which is pretty accurate to the book)...is there anything false about the battle of Iwo Jima portrayed in the movie?

The book and screenplay which was based on it was written by James Bradley, a man whose father was one one the actual flag raisers on Mt Suribachi. They tried to make it as historically accurate as possible when they made the movie.

They made it as real as possible in the movies, but I bet it was worse in real life. And also, tehre were alot of black men fighting, yet tehres none in the book. (I havn't seen the movie)
