You think London has a problem...you haven't been to NYC yet. These pigeons, or aerial rats as I call them, spread disease, primarily mange and lice, and crap on everything under the sun, including people, cars, pasrk benches, awnings, sidewalks, etc. What really makes my blood boil are all the idiotic old farts that keep feeding these pigeons and making it easy for them to reproduce instead of dropping dead. It is illegal to feed birds in many cities, but some of these self proclaimed "bird lovers" are ignorant of the law and they continue to feed the birds. I always get into heated arguments with these bird feeding idiots, asking if they own any cars and if they know how hard it is to clean bird poop off a car. Also, the acid in the bird poop does damage the paint and clearcoat on cars, leaving nasty stains and spots. I wish we had more redtailed hawks and other birds of prey to keep the pigeon population down. I live in the suburbs and I see plenty of hawks, falcons, owls, and other birds of prey and I welcome the sight as they keep the pigeons and other vermin at bay.

Yes, I think they should be culled by the council. Also seagulls in seaside towns, just far to many of them. Its a shame you can't eat town pigeons, don't know what they'd taste like. Wood pigeons are good to eat. Obviously they would not kill every one but just keep there numbers down a bit.
