I dreamed one of my cousins who is going through a very rough time. He's a heavy smoker, drinker and drug user and he is extremely close to hitting rock bottom. I haven't seen him for quite a while now and the other day I had a dream about him, but in my dream he was some sort of authority, like a detective or police officer and was clean, well dresses and sharp looking, he looked very intelligent and professional. Well, I was driving on the road when I was pulled over by him and for whatever reason he would not cut me a break, he gave a ticket and would not let me go. So, the next morning I remember my dream and wondered why all of a sudden he appeared in my dream after not having any contact for a long time plus he was very opposite to what he really is. I'm just curious, I'm afraid that maybe something happen to him, cause nobody knows where he is. can you tell me if I'm just making non sense or if it means anything at all.

You are, I think, the 15th askers to ask about the meaning of dreams... Dreams have nothing to do with the reality of life. It's the people who make dreams in exhilarating ways.

Dreams can be random but they can also be a reflection of issues or situations that we need or want to resolve, fears that surface from our subconscious mind or even a repetition of events or things we have learned (which we dream about for clarification). From what you wrote, the symbol of a police officer represents your desire to protect or rescue your cousin and or it could symbolize your fear of impending punishment towards your cousin. The fact that you were stopped while driving a car shows possibly your lack of control over the situation; furthermore, your being held and the situation is beyond your control. I would say that your dreaming is in tune to the situation and an expression of your concern for your cousin.

Try finding him and reaching out to him. Let him know you care. Sometimes it can make a big difference to a person who is hitting rock bottom, that they know someone cares and is there for them. Good luck to you.

Dreams usually don't mean anything. They're usually things that are useless to your mind and you get rid of them through dreaming. I'm sorry that your cousin is having a rough time, and maybe dreaming about him as a sort of authority was like your mind saying that you wish that he'd sort out his life, or you wish that he was really like that, etc. Not having contact with him for a long time doesn't mean that you can't dream about him, because dreams can be about any random subject really.

Don't worry about this, nothing will happen to him just because you dreamed about him. Dreams are not connected to real life, they are things that are stored in your subconscious mind. Why don't you try and fnd out where your cousin is and contact him? Maybe you can help him with his problems. Don't worry about this though, because dreams can be about anything, it doesn't mean that something or someone that you haven't heard from for a long time won't appear in one of them at sometime.

Dreams are simply randomness! Don't worry. :)

Dreams can be premonitions in the fact that our subconscious picks things up that we overlook in our conscious daily lives. For obvious reasons, you are having concerns for your cousin and it could be wishful thinking that you would like to see him make a change. However, with the police officer, it could be telling you that it is not going to be an easy change for him, he will be forced into it. However, more often than not, dreams are about us.

Dreams are all symbolism and usually reflect everything about who we are and how we feel about our surroundings. Everything and everyone in the dream represents us. To do dream analysis you need to take the dream apart and take each person and thing and ask yourself "how does this represent me; what is this telling me about myself". Has your life been out of control lately that you would be concerned about your health or safety? The police officer that wouldn't give you a break; could that represent the part of you that has been hard on yourself and feeling guilty? Most likely this dream is a lot about you. Take time to go over it piece by piece. For instance, how is an aspect of you like your cousin?

Very often, dreams are opposite to us or there is a hidden message from your subconscious mind.

In your case, your cousin seems to be a loser in reality, but you subconsciously wanted him to be totally different. Remember this is your dream, most of the time, it is about you, not him. The reason you dream of him being so different in the dream because 1. you want to boost up his confidence, that also means you want to lower down your self esteem to make him respected. 2. You are experiencing something similar to him. In other words, you may be feeling down at that moment. To you, he is a symbol or reminder, but somehow you want to deny about the whole things and that is why you dream about him like that.

it makes sense at all, it could means that you feel like that you try to help him but you can't because he wouldn't let you and that make you feel that you will feel bad that you can't do anything about it. all you can do now is to wait and if you see him again, try to make him to relieves that his is doing the wrong thing and try to get him into rehab.later on if this works, he will thank you for it and he can changes his life for better.

Your dream probably has nothing to do with him at all. Your dreams are all about you, your own perceptions of things or events.
