I was supposed to be living right here, right now.
Why would you want to live in the past? Do you know what was going on in the 30s? The Depression ring a bell? No jobs, no money...
And you think the 50s were so great? If you were black, you'd still be unable to live in certain places or shop in certain stores, or go to certain schools. Girls and women were kept from pursuing technological jobs and were instead steered toward being a regular home maker. Abortion was illegal and contraception was frowned upon so if a woman accidentially got pregnant she either went to some dangerous back alley doctor for an abortion or was sent away by her family in shame.
Be glad you live now and look toward the future...
