you take some liquid detergent like you use for the washing machine to wash clothes..(the soap stuff) ..and put some in a cup and leave the ring in for a couple or minutes..it cleans it and makes it shine again!

The best way to clean a diamond is to take it to a local jeweler- like at a mall and ask them if they would run it through the steam cleaner. It is usually free. DO NOT USE SOAP IT WILL MAKE A THIN LAYER OF FILM OVER IT. PROFFESSIONS USE STEAMERS BECAUSE IT WILL STAY CLEAN LONGER AND SHINE BRIGHTER. I am a jeweler myself.

steam, take it to any Jewelry store and they will clean it for free. you wouldn't believe how good it looks when they are done. my wife just had her engagement ring cleaned after one year on it was like night and day! we just told they guy at one of those mall stores that we bought it their and they cleaned it for free, it only took about five minutes. but be prepared to listen to their sales pitch while waiting. but the do it yourself kits don't work so well. get a professional to do it.

This may sound strange but I have used just regular toothpaste before and it has shined up my rings making them look brand new.

many jewelers will clean them for free....but if you want to do it at home, I suggest you use toothpaste. You heard right--toothpaste. it has just enough abrasive in it to clean it well, and leave it shiny.
