I came across it in the Bible. I'm not exactly sure of the pronounciation but I think it looks pretty. I believe it can be pronounced:

Ja el-- w/ the long a sound
or
Ji el- w/ the long i
or
Ja yelle

Not having a baby-- I just think it looks interesting:)

I guess it could also be pronounced Ji-yelle.
Does anyone know the "bible pronounciation" of the name??

Nancy-- Jael can be found in the Old Testaments.

Thanks Fairy for clearing that up:)

The pronunciation (at least the way I hear it pronounced) has a slight pause in the middle so both pieces are clearly pronounced. Ja-elle.

"Jail" didn't even cross my mind when I read it. I think it's how people are pronouncing it.

It's the first one. Ja-el as in "Ja-elle" no Y sound. Yes I do like that name, I believe it's Hebrew...

Jael looks cool, but it sounds like jail. A Jie-ell pronunciation sounds cool, but when spelled Jiel, could be difficult to interpret. The name sounds too archaic for a modern kid to carry off well.

Why would anyone want to condemn their child to living a life with a first name which would be consistently pronounced as 'Jail'. As in, you're going to jail, Jael.

Too similar to Jail. Could be a prophesy.
