Well I am not sure whether you wanted to ask the question as a joke or not...

Anyways... 60 odd years ago the poor people who were servants were not allowed to have Xmas off, as they had to serve the rich. They instead got the next day off, with Xmas Boxes that had gifts in them. As years went by, the tradition died but it is still part of the Xmas package.

Boxing day has nothing to do with the sport. The name comes from putting all those gifts in the boxes.

no its when your neighbour deserves an explanation of why its called boxing day. i'd suggest doing something nice like slashing his tyres or pissing on their doormat
