The classic solution: put it in a bigger box. When my mom was a kid, her big brother once wrapped a wristwatch in a refrigerator box stuffed with rolled newspaper.
My mom's annoying solution when I was a kid: put it in a bigger box in a bigger box in a bigger box, each one wrapped separately.
Our favorite solution: put a smallish box under the tree. In that box is a clue that describes another location in the house -- say, under the kitchen sink. When he goes there, he finds another clue to ANOTHER location -- say, in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. And in the fridge he finds a third clue, and so on. The final clue (and more than three or four are considered "cruel and unusual" in my family) leads to the location of the Actual Gift. At this point, the Actual Gift may be wrapped or not, depending on what it is. This is also good if you need to set up the gift while they're out of the room.
The best gift delivered by this method was my daughters' shared gift to their little brother last Christmas. They had written their clues in rhyme, and he excitedly followed each one. The last one told him to look in the kitchen. When he turned the corner from the hall into the kitchen... they hit him in the face with a pie.
He LOVED it. It remains his FAVORITE Christmas present ever (then again, he bought his Legendary Official Red Ryder 200-Shot Carbine-Action Range Model Air Rifle with his own birthday money). Fortunately, he's a fan of classic slapstick comedy; his third-grade biography book report was about Curly Howard of the Three Stooges... and yes, at the end of that report, his sister came into his class and hit him in the face with a pie. He got an A, and his book reports are now legendary throughout the school. :-)

Do not wrap the gift at all keep it hidden. Take a pic of the xbox and wrap that up in a box and he will never know.

I like to leave gifts for my husband in places that he'll see when I'm out so it will be a total surprise. For example, one year I got him a watch he really wanted. I go to work before him, so I hid it in his underwear drawer so he would find it the next morning when he went to take a shower! I didn't wrap it. I just put it in an expected place for him to find all on his own.

You could wrap it to look like a giant Hershey Kiss. You would need a large piece of cardboard, cut it in a circle to fit under the box. You will need crumpled newspaper to stuff on top, in the shape of a Kiss. Wrap in aluminum foil. Cut a piece of paper into a strip to use coming out of the top---write "to" and "from", "A Big Kiss For You" or "Merry Christmas" or whatever on it---and twist it into the top to look like a Kiss!
Hope this makes sense!

Get a box that is a lot bigger than the xbox. Put some packing peanuts in it (so if he shakes it, it doesn't shake around) and put the xbox in it. He will think that you got him a huge gift and when he opens it he will be totally surprised.

Put it in some other bigger boxes. Use lots of newspaper to keep it from moving around in there if he shakes it. Wrap each box seperately to give him lots to open before he gets to the surprise.

One... get a bigger box and put some heavy books in it... then place the X-box inside....
Or you can make up a small card and place it on the tree... tell him on the card that a gift is hidden somewhere and have him hunt for it!
Or go for funny!! Get an older/ out dated video game box (from a game consignment store) and put the x-box inside inside....! When he opens it, tell him you wanted to go for vintage gifts this year!!!! Then wait to see if he believes you!
