I think is is great. EVERYONE has the spring/summer weddings. A winter wedding would be special and a nice change

I'm in Ontario Canada myself, where we define winter LOL.
My husband and I have been married since January 25th, 2003, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
I've been to summer weddings as both a guest and a bridesmaid, and both times the heat and humidity (or rain and storms in some cases) seemed to take away from the beauty of it all. I noticed that more often than not, the bride's makeup was worn out halfway through the ceremony and looked awful by picture time, the groomsmen had somewhat heavy clothing to wear when you consider the layers of shirts, jackets etc, any children in the wedding party complain the most about the heat and the biggest thing was the cost. Because summer is the most popular time of the year for weddings (with July and August being the top two), prices are sky-high.
Our wedding grand total was $2000. That may sound absurd and impossible, but that included my dress, my shoes, the cake, our flowers, our minister, our reception meal (for 22 people, including ourselves), alcohol, license and rental of the two reception rooms we had at the hotel where we got married (along with other little things). I could give you the exact numbers, which would take all day, but I won't LOL.
As for Colorado, I think that would be a marvelous place to get married. My husband and I lived in British Columbia for a year in the heart of the rocky mountains, and we saw a lot of people at the resort where we worked plan their weddings there. Plus, with a winter wedding, you're surrounded by snow, and white being the color of virginity and purity makes it all very romantic and sentimental.

Im not sure what a winter in colorado is like but my friend is getting married next week (28th December) here in ireland. I know alot of people are now opting to get married in winter. I suppose it has its pros and cons. The weather is cold and no guarantee that it wont rain but in all honesty you spent most of your time indoors anyway. Church and then back to reception. I must say though I am finding it quite expensive having it at this time. She is my close friend so Ill be putting a nice bit of cash in her card. I had to buy an outfit as I didnt have anything suitable but also lent a few bits too to cut down on price. My partner had to hire a suit (cheaper) and then there is money for the night and the expense of the hotel. Doesnt help with Santa Claus visiting my house in an expensive way this year. It all depends on yourself and what you would like. Personally Id prefer a summer wedding.

I got married on 27 December, there was a beautiful Christmas tree in the church and instead of the usual hyms we had carols (no not Silent Night or In the Bleak Mid Winter).
I wore a white velvet dress trimmed with white fur and the bridesmaids were in deep peach velvet and had muffs instead of flowers.
The hotel was all decorated and had a lovely festive atmosphere. We arranged for the majoriity of our photographs to be taken in the church or at the hotel where we had our reception.
Our day was sunny and bright, as opposed to my friend's who opted for a June wedding and it poured all day.
Also by choosing a winter wedding we found nearly everyone accepted as we weren't trying to work round people's holdays- although if you have any football fanatics do watch the fixture lists!!!
A good tip is to have a 2.00p-ish wedding, which allows for people to travel if the weather is bad, but the daylight is still good
No matter when you decide to get married it is your very special day and you will enjoy it. Good luck to you both

The really big plus about a winter wedding is that you KNOW that its going to be cold, so you can plan ahead. All that worrying about what the weather will be like for a summer wedding just isn't going to be a concern for you. Good luck.

If your husband and you want a winter wedding, I say go ahead, it will be beautiful ! ! DO what you both want, and who cares what other people say. The reason why I may sound bitter, it was a dream of mine since I was young to have a winter wedding, but my spouse and his family opposed greatly, so they dashed my dream. Although I still had a beautiful wedding in April, I would have much preferred my winter dream.

I guess I am kinda traditional. I like red and green for December weddings. I like light blue and silver for the other winter months. I do agree that red and silver would be pretty for a wedding around Valentine's Day. Good luck with your planning.

I think that would be beautiful. Everybody always gets married in the summer. So a winter wedding would be special.

well if your gonna have it in colorado have fun getting there
there is a lot of snow
but that would be cool to have a wedding in winter
but it will be hard for the guest to arrive in all that snow

winter time is so pretty i think! A wedding at that time of year would be lovely. I say go for it. Break the mould.
