It completely depends on the situation. If the woman has stayed at home and been married for many years then, yes. A lot of time women stayed at home and raised their children and have no working skills so the husband should pay her alimony for the time period it takes her to find a way to support herself. If she has a job but just makes less and no kids are involved then no.

Well I make WAAAAAY more money than my hubby and if we were to divorce....well lets say that there will be a deep battle of the attorneys. I worked hard to bring my business from zero to successful and he didn't help any! ( I'm staring at him as I type) and I dare him to try to take what I make out from under me. Now if things were different ( he had helped me build my company ) sure, I think he would deserve a fair portion.

I think it's fair to say that women and men alike are entitled to alimony. I just think in K Fed's situation, nobody likes him so nobody wants to see him run away with 10 million dollars.

I thought brit and k fed had a prenup, but then again she was dumb enough to marry him and get prego twice, so i guess no prenup is not a surprise! I think it depends on the circumstances of the marriage and divorce.

Alimony should only happen in longterm marriages where one spouse's earning potential was adversely affected by the marriage.

I think it depends on how long they were married and what quality of life she had while married, you know extravagent life style, high maintenance and whether a pre-nup was involved. Then again, I'm no lawyer.
