I'm of the opinion that gun control tends to stymie gun ownership by law abiding citizens, but does little to prevent criminals from getting and/or using firearms. What do you think?

I would say just right also for the most part, some major cities are a bit on the strict side though

Too much, why is it that only the 2nd amendment
ever gets restricted. Why not the first. Only licensed
reporters could write stories, but only one a month
and they had to wait seven days to publish it. They
must have a lock on the keyboard to keep other
people from using it. Have to pass a test just to
get a license to write. Sounds good. That will cut
down on the tabloid press.
Keep talking to the 911 operator when someone's
kicking in your door. That will teach them.
Also, all the states with carry laws, have lower
violent crime rates. D.C., with some of the strictest
gun laws has a horrible crime rate.
Need more proof. Look to England and Australia.
Since banning all guns, the crime rate has soared
in those countries. What don't they get.
Buy a gun, learn to use it, protect yourself.
The police only clean up afterwards.

Far too much - people who wish to legally purchase a gun have to jump through all sorts of crap to get one, + a waiting period, + a background check.

Illegally? You can walk out with one, which is why criminals have them

The reality is, the first thing Hitler did when he came to power was tell everyone they didn't need weapons, because their government would protect them. The NRA should be more active is suing for gun owners rights and force our government to address the issue of illegal acquisitions.

History has shown that if people want something bad enough they will get it.

thewrath-If everyone had guns crime would go down? Just the opposite my friend. There was a time in American history where everyone was armed and crime ran rampant. Law enforcement could not keep up with organized gangs

Good thing Schwarzenegger banned the 50 cals...Someone may want to use it in a bank heist. LOL.

Anyone can bypass the laughable gun controls the US has now.

I've heard a proposal that I really like--no gun control, just bullet control.

It's OK. Remember, if we start to control weapons, than everyone who BREAKS THE LAW will HAVE A WEAPON, and they know law-abiding citizens don't have any.

Do you want that?
