Just what are you referring to? Who says we are to destroy ourselves?

2006-12-21 09:17:59 · answer #1 · answered by Netsbridge 3 · 0 0

Human nature is based on love-strife. Strife can be called as " Destroying" and love can be called " constructing" or "producing".

Many philosophers thought that conflicts in nature is logical, because;nature itself is a conflict. So they think that if we continue to exist in nature, we will continue to destroy ourselves.

My opinion is there is no destroying but "changing" or "transforming". We have all the vice and virtues but some people transforms in some states so often like " destroying other people's life" or "working to make everyone happy".

Because of the fact that we do not understand ourselves, conflicts will always exist for these opinions so "destroying ourselves" too...

It's not a must for us to destroy ourselves. There's many opportunities for one person to help someone else, but at the same time not letting another person take advantage of his assistance. This is best accomplished by being creative with win-win situations. Humans however are by nature greedy bitches. We would always want to come out on top and get the most out of every situation. However, those people who constantly think in terms of win-win situations will lead this world in a direction, in which we won't be destroying one another.

Hope I answered your question.

we must continue to destroy ourselves because we are a mindless mass devoid of the individual intellect necessary to make the dramatic decisions in short periods of time which would be required to bring about a collective paradigm shift in human behaviour and thus we are led to actions beyond our control by the controlling super rich, super powerful using traditional tools such as fear, greed and desire...these actions being to climb over one another for some meaningless artifact of consumerism or a status/recognition badge which has relative obscurity when judged against the next idol's decorations....global conflicts are instigated as a means to shake down social conscience and bring about a renewal of naiveties which in turn feeds a new cycle of profiteering and control.....the question should not therefore be..why must we continue but why must we allow ourselves to continue or more pertinently...why do we continue to destroy ourselves....the compulsion is not internal...it is external

Why do you think that? I see humanity, at least the US, as in the history of civilization, as being the kindest and most helpful as it has ever been. Whenever someone in the world needs emergency help, we are there. If Iran or Syria were to go through anything catastrophic, the US would be the first country there to help and the most generous. Even though those countries are plotting to destroy western civilization.

Because we listen to others for advice on everything. We not only listen, but take their advice as "gospel". I do not think that any of the Hollywood left know anything about what is good for this country, but people listen to them. It makes me sick to hear actors running off at the mouth about how stupid the President is and they and only they know what is good for the country. If you do not like this country-LEAVE!
God gave you a mind, now use it. Your parents taught you right from wrong, use that also. Unless we decide to stand up for ourselves, we are doomed as a country.

We don't. If everyone on this Earth made a decision NOT to, than we wouldn't. Meantime YOU and I and OTHERS will make the decision not to. Still others will follow. We will teach our children and when THEY are the parents we will NO LONGER be destroying ourselves.

Yes, it IS that simple.

Because it is human nature. We will kill ourselves off by listening to our devilish instincts. The instincts of greed, hate, vengeance, and not caring. Because we should be generous, loving, forgiving, and caring to create a better world. There will be a time. When a lot of us die and those who survive survive by loving and caring and working together.

simple answer: nature

The circle of life must be balanced. If we don't balance it, then "nature" or the earth will. Examples: Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, etc. I'm not saying we sudden want to change it, but just a balloon, if you put too much air into it, then it will explode.
