I was watching CNN the other day and saw this report on the KKK. If im not mistaken it was said there are an additional 800 more members joining the Klu Klux Klan. They went on to say that certain places are really racist and even showed people saying they hate blacks and jews and that they dont belong here. This one 'white' said that blacks and jews need to get out because we were not the ones who built this land so therefore we should not live in it. I was ok with the newsreport until i saw them showing footage of a KKK 'ceremony' where they were actually praying to god and chanting 'white power' i was extremely appalled and didnt think that they should have went that far. I wanna know you guy's opinion. Thanx A Lot

I actually think it was a good idea for CNN to air that. Work with me here now. Too many people don't realize how dangerous the KKK is! Yes, they are alive and well here. But when people are aware of their power, they will take steps to protect themselves and their loved ones from that power. We don't always like seeing the hatred and ugliness in the world, but we need to know so we will not be victimized by it.

The more attention that the media provides them the more the group with grow - that's problem #1..

Unfortunately, white supremacists and the KKK have always been there - people just paid less attention. Do a search on the internet and you'll be amazed how much crap pops up.

As far as the ritual you saw, that's been the same since the KKK began and I agree, it's disgusting. If they hate people of color so much then I believe that maybe they should head back to Scandinavia or something along those lines. They should GO BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM. Another question...where do the Native American Indians fall into this picture? They are the TRUE "Americans". Maybe everyone else should leave so they can have their land back!

Well Sweetie I am a white man and proud to be living in the USA! However, not putting my race down, but I feel the whites should leave if anyone, cause in reality the Native Americans is who built this land and not the whites, and the whites stoled it from them on top of that. If anybody knows how to take care of the land that God gave them, it is the Native Americans and the blacks that worked in the fields during the slavery days!!! As for the KKK speeches, I never once heard them say anything about growing anything, but if you asked the KKK to grow potatos they'll probably frow pumpkins instead.

This is a case of the Media sensationalizing a situation. Don't put too much stock into this as the KKK is very disorganized these days. The fact is that per capita the KKK has very few members. Of course CNN is going to make it look as horrible and threatening as possible.

The truth is that race relations are better now than they have ever been. I don't think we will ever see a day when there are not racists but there are less every year.

These are just small town, rural groups with almost zero power. I wouldn't put it high on my list of worries.

I was watching "A Time to Kill" the other night and couldn't stop crying after Mathew McConaughey's speech at the end. We don't suffer from colour discrimination in my country (unfortunately, we still have other forms of prejudice) so it's really difficult for me to understand how people could have so much hate for others simply because they're different colours! It's unbelievable!

If the whole world is striving towards a tolerant world where all people coexist peacefully regardless of race/religion/nationality then why aren't groups like the KKK being outlawed?!

i do not support kkk and hate crimes, but
how do u think white people feel, black people get all sorts of funds and schools and diplomas and white people pay for it all. black people get public housing, white people just get homless. and black people have a Proud To Be Black parades and everything else. if white people had that, it would be called hate and KKK.
and dont get me started on the black author who wrote the book "Exterminate the White Man"

what about the black and mexican gangs that are constantly commiting hate crimes against white people, raping and robbing and killing. But wait, its only a hate crime if a white person is the perpitratior

how do u think white people feel when the media is constantly watching us waiting for us to say something racist when people like Dave Chapelle and Richard Prior constantly get away with racist slang and everything else. even tho I dont support Michael Richards' rant, its about time a white man stands up to a black man.

With affirmative action and college quotas hurting impoverished, working and middle-class whites, the Klan looks to grow in power. The gated community elite whites and some blacks are making it impossible for a white person who is not them to make a living with their socialist liberal policies. Make no mistake, the gated community liberal people don't care about blacks. They are using their policies to get lower class whites and blacks to kill each other in order for the elites to keep their power and legacies.

Hate stems from fear, and fear stems from ignorance. Don't let them get to you as they're not worth it.

The building of the land part made me laugh though! Who built this land originally? Native Americans.

One way to annoy the heck out of racist 'religious' people though is to point out that Jesus wouldn't have been the white man portrayed in paintings. He would have in fact been of a darker shade of skin due to being from Israel.

They can't argue with that as it's a fact!

The KKK is full of ignorant white people, don't pay them any mind. Just turn the other way and let God deal with them when they die. The KKK cannot change a thing because we aren't going anywhere. Don't let their ignorance upset you.

I am white and a Christian and am ashamed that KKK members could consider themselves Christian. My God is no respector of persons; white, black, red, doesn't matter the color. I think the KKK is something else that satan has put into the minds of men, and it is a terrible thing!
