H+ + OH- --------> H2O (water)

Adding an Acid (H+) to a base (OH-) will ALWAYS give you water (H2O) and a salt. in this case, you'll only get H2O, but if you take HCl and NaOH, it will give you water (H2O) and a salt (NaCl, table salt)

Well, H+ is despirately searching for an electron and OH- is trying to give up its electron. So, they meet, form water, and are now happily neutral.
