Tell me, why do so many people play video games? Is it to get their imagination away from reality? Is it to un-do the person's pain? What is it that makes a person so addicted to play a video game...

I don't know about other people, but for me it's to make up for my short coming. I guess that would also mean it's a way for me to escape reality.

Video Games and a great source of Entertainment. Also, they relieve stress and frustration, unless they're the one thats causing it. People make video games anymore to get people addicted so that particular game make alot of money. Take Madden for instence, they have been coming out since 1994 and still manufactured today with the new HD Madden 2007 (07). It got addicting and the supply and demand went up so high, they come out with a new one every year. Video Games, make the world go round anymore.

It's different for everyone. Some people play to spark their imaginations, relax, just do something, to warm up their fingers, or to occupy themselves. For me, I just find them enjoyable. My dream is to become a concept artist for videogames and movies so playing many videogames would be a good way for me to see the design techniques/concepts.

to have fun and to feel good!
it's the same reason as why do people play sports?
both sports and video games allow a person to relax from a days work and have fun.
they both have challenges, and you feel good when you win.
