Stop what your doing right now. Go to the hospital. From the sounds of it, though I'm not a doctor just a very unlucky mountain biker, it sounds like you may have possible ruptured a neck vertebrae disk as well as strained and or torn a few neck muscles. The swelling is your bodies way of telling you not to move as well as to keep further injuries down by making things so they can't move easily. If you are having troubles breathing still, your in more trouble neck wise than I've ever experienced!!

You might have injured a ligament in the neck, or worse, suffered a vertebral body fracture in this setting of neck trauma. If intreated, neck swelling can lead to spinal cord damage from the pressure of bone fragments or blood on the nerve structures. You need some xrays. If the injuries are unstable, you will need surgery to but these bones back togehter. If it's serious enough and you don't do anything about it, it could lead to serious nerve injury.

You should go to a doctor immediately. There is a possibility that you have broken your neck or something just as serious. Go to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center website at http://www.dhmc.org/ortho/Spine_Center/broken_neck.html. See if some of those symptoms are what have happened to you. You should be very concerned - do not hesitate to tell someone right away.

yes go to the doctor! Are you stupid? Your neck is swollen and you can not breath, go to the doctor! You should be concerned about your neck and your spelling. Next time use the spell check, ya know that thing in the right hand corner above your typing that says "check spelling".

Well whenever it becomes difficult to breathe at times, you are best off going to the doctor as a precautionary measure. It's tough to know what could be wrong at you without looking at you, doing some tests, etc, but if you go to the doctor they will probably send you for an X-ray, and you'll know for sure whether it's anything to worry about, and what can be done to help.

What happened is the t bone that is in your neck has probably gotten sprained or something. You should go to the doctor though to see what they say. You will most likely be fine though. So don't worry. The same thing happened to me when i was 14. I went to the doctor and that's what they told me.

I would go to the doctor to see why your neck is swelling. I don't know what that popping sound was. Did you ask your parents? I would ask them and then tell them that you want to go to the doctors.

You should go to the doctor and get it checked out. There is a very good chance that it is a dislocated disc. It could become extremely serious you may have fractured it. But among all things yes you must go to the doctor.
