Yes. I told my mom about it years later. She had no clue. She teases me about it because I have kids now.

We'd shake 'em. And then Mother couldn't stand it: She'd Give Us the Present, and Tell us to Unwrap It so she could see us smile! Sometimes we'd all wrap it up again, for our own secret joke, but mostly she wanted to see us enjoy it, too, so in the end, she'd go out and get more presents! What a Mom!

One year this led to a Christmas day with very little under the tree, so we all went and got what she'd already given us, and put that under the tree so everyone could see that we really were happy, and then we all just sang Christmas carols and played all day.

When I was 14, I unwrapped and re-wrapped all my presents - and then acted so surprised on Christmas morning. Did it the following year too. Got busted the third time around - Mom started hiding my gifts until Christmas Eve. LOL

As an adult now - I just shake the boxes LOL

I never unwrapped anything, but I would snoop for stuff that wasn't wrapped yet. One year I found my parent's Christmas gift list with the things they had already bought crossed out.

No I was a good kid & besides Santa had my presents LOL
but my sister used to say to the brother in law
If you tell me what you got me I will tell you what I have for you etc
I used to think whats the point in doing that
the surprise will be ruined for xmas
Merry Christmas to you

Yes. And then Christmas morning I was pissed when I did it. I still like to do the traditional "pick up and shake the present" routine. I can never not do that.

I think everyone in my family snuck around to see what they got. The hard part was figuring out where my mom hid the presents. Of course she would wrap most of them as soon as she got them, so it was hard to see what we got. I must say, I have completely grown out of that now and love to wait to see what I got. I'll even turn down offers to get hints or to find out what someone got me.

Lol. Well, I did poke holes on the bottom of the gift (where I figured my parents wouldn't notice) to have a peek inside. Even when I picked out my own gift in advance, I still wanted to have a little glimpse of it. :O)

I just shook the gifts, but one time two of my sisters actaually opened all of their gifts that were under the tree and rewrapped them back up. My mom found out because she wraps really well and my younger sister didn't. She got so mad that she took back all the gifts that they opened.

Heck yeah, I'm a sneaky bastard. I can't help it (BTW, isn't that the biggest part of the process? being able to get in and out without leaving a trace and even being able to fake a spontaneous response?)
