Which, out of all of the Harry Potter movies, is the best in your opinion?

My cousin loves the movies (She has all the books) And wanted one Harry Potter movie for Christmas (Keep in mind she's seen them all, so choosing the first one isn't manditory)... so which one is your favorite and why?

She also loves Alan Rickman, (Snape) So... which one involes him more? Thank you ahead of time.

To be honest, I hate the fact that they keep changing the directors because every director has an own opinion or view of how the movie should be like and this affects the connection and flow of the episodes in the series. I loved the first two episodes because they seem so much alike and it is obvious that they have been made under the wand of the same person: Chris Columbus. I loved what he did with the first two movies and he's the reason why the first two are my favourites. Starting with the Prisoner of Azkaban, all the episodes seem like they stopped following the actual story based on the book and they wanted to have a life of their own. They stopped trying to achieve the naturality of the HP books and they seemed like they were more focused on other modern aspects coming from Hollywoodian influences that have nothing to do with canon. It just seems like the natural flow of the story has been disrupted. It's obvious that all episodes are directed by different persons and that's very disappointing to me because it's like watching a kid grow under the care of a different parent each year. One parent tells him to eat sweets, the other one denies it. Lol. Do you know what I mean?

I think the movie that shows Snape most is the 3rd, Prisoner of Azkaban, it has the biggest number of scenes with him.

They are on two different levels, the movies cant follow the books exactly or else they would be 6 hours long each. And in order to make the movie make sense some things from the plot need to be changed. Otherwise the changes to the plot would change the whole story. And the dobby thing, it's gonna cost way more money to have to have a computer generated house elf for something as simple as handing harry gillyweed as apposed to having neville do it. So I'm sure the movie company wants to save money. So if you're going to compare the two (books and movies) the books are better because there are more detail to certain things and more action, BUT if you think of them on different terms the movies are freakin awesome also.

Even though I disliked the first few Harry Potter movies at first, after comparing with the more recent ones, they were actually better. The most recent one, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire skipped a lot of parts and had an ending that didn't match with the beginning. It's really easy to get confused if you didn't read the book like 10 times (which i luckily did:-). The first one was a bit lame so I guess I liked the second movie best.

I wouldn't recommend the last two Harry Potter movies, Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire, if you're more into getting her a movie with more Snape.

But my personal favorite movie is Chamber of Secrets, and it has alot more Snape in it than most of the others.

I love the fourth one, because there's this whole stretch in the middle where every scene is funny - it's when the guys are trying to ask a girl out to the Yule Ball. Snape has some funny lines in it too, and the directing is awesome. The actors and actresses have also matured a lot, and as a result their acting is more sincere and convincing. Hope this helps!

The first one is the best in my opinion since it contains many details the book has, but I would say that the 3rd movie (Prisoner of Azkaban) has Snape in it the most since Snape:
1.Substitutes for Lupin
2.Catches Harry in his nighttime wandering
3.Finds him in the Shrieking Shack

when it comes to the movies in its entirity I think that the best would be the 4th, it involves the best scenes that I've seen from the other directors and it also has a lot of depth in it. But there's also the fact that our cousin loves snape. I think that the first movie would have to be the best in that department. Hope this helps!

Definitely the first movie. It was the most magical and lead us into the world that is Harry. If you are looking for Snape this one sets up a real sense of who he is and his relationship with Harry.

I like the second movie "The Chamber of Secrets" because it shows trust and love among the friends and because it's the scariest in a way :) This one also involves Snape quite a bit for reasons that I can't say unless you have watched it. Hope it helps!
