If you can't afford the gizmo they make to remove scratches you can use car wax.
Apply the wax with a rag across the disc in a back and forth direction until it is completely covered. Then allow it to dry and wipe off with the same motion. The very fine scratches should be gone and any heavy scratches will be filled by the wax.
Do not use a circular motion around the disc as this will damage it.

You can't actually remove the scratches. Once the CD is scratched, you can fill the scratch by cleaning it was a CD polisher avaliable at Target or other retain stores. Also, try cleaning your CD player as well. Sometime they get dusty and this affects whether the CD plays as well.

I have found scratch remover kits do not work well. The best solution is to copy the files to a computer (they can usually read scratched discs much better than normal players) After the files have been copied to the computer burn a new copy of the cd and Viola....no more problems playing.

My in demand (a cheap) way is to positioned toothpaste on it. In some movie house places you may convey it in and examine to pay $15 or in an attempt to have them take out all the scratches. i don't recognize if it rather works in spite of the undeniable fact that because we continuously get it fixed with the toothpaste.

Take them to your video rental store...they will polish them for a buck (or if you're cute, probably for free.)
At home, toothpaste and a soft (SOFT) towel.
