Sum the integers and after, sum the fractions.
Thus,
(4 + 2) + (2/3 + 3/5) =
LCF(3, 5) = 15
6 + (10/15) + 9/15) =
6 + 19/15 = 6 19/15 or 109/15

4 2/3 + 2 3/5 = 4+2 + 2/3 + 3/5
= 6 + 2/3 + 3/5
= 6 + (2*5)/(3*5) + (3*3)/(5*3)
= 6 + 10/15 + 9/15
= 6 + 19/15
= 6 + 15/15 + 4/15
= 6 + 1 + 4/15
= 7 4/15

multiply the number outside the fraction by the denominator and add the numerator
4 2/3 = 4*3 +2 all over 3 = 14/3
2 3/5 = 2*5 + 3 all over 5 = 13/5
find a number that both denominators will divide into evenly
3 and 5 go into 15 evenly
divide the denominator into that number and multiply the quotent by the numerator
3 divides into 15 5 times. 5 * 14 = 70 so 14/3 = 70/15
5 divides into 15 3 times. 3 * 13 = 39 so 13/5 = 39/15
70/15 + 39/15 = 109/15
15 goes into 109 7 times withh 4 left over so 109/15 = 7 4/15
hope this helped.
