Driver ants, in particular siafu. The ants in Ethiopia and northeast Africa. Also in Tanzania and the Congo.
Here's a quote: "The most dangerous ant colonies are those of the army ants and the driver ants which are found in tropical forests."
Although I have read just 4 stings from bullet ants can kill a human being in many cases. Bullet ants travel in the thousands. They can sting as many times as they'd like just like a wasp, and unlike the honeybee.

The most painful ant sting is the bullet ant.
Army ants are very aggressive but that is due to their numbers.
I'll go with army ants.

According to the Smithsonian, the Black Bulldog Ant can sting and bite at the same time, and can cause death in humans. If you live in Australia, you're really out of luck

Fire ants can kill (when the prey receives enough stings). The Bulldog ant is vicious, but there is less info on them.

I believe they are the bulldog ants, a extremely agressive(SP) species of ant that lives in the austrailia-new zealand (SP?)
It has been known to attack and kill. Yes, an ant CAN kill you.
