Why don't people whip kids any more?

I'm in my teens and I've only got a few whippings but thats all I needed.I started acting right.These people let their kids squaw and tare up everything its stupid not to whip em.Like ADD its not a disease its not getting whipped.WHIP YOUR KIDS!

I DO NOT mean abuse I mean a swat on the hind end.

Thank the State/Government for that!!! I personally think if a child runs out into the street (example) I would smack his/her butt especially if I told them not to, but to me it would be in a sense of protecting their life and I would not abuse it, but to teach them a lesson, because I love them and I would do it regardless what the state/government says, and if I have to pay a penalty for that...so be it, I'll do it again if need be. I'm a little older then you, but I have got my butt whipped as a child and I'm alright and living today, I have respect for my elders!!! and I try to live a decent lifestyle. However there is way too much abuse on children out there that shouldn't be....Susan Smith drowning her own child....not too long ago a mother put her own child in the microwave and I think if I'm not mistaken the child was only a few weeks old, that's a shame!!! But it's for those reasons why the state/government stepped in and now they investigate the situation. What really really makes me mad is...when children report their parent for being abusive to get what they want!!! The kid should pay the penalty instead of the parents!!!, and the state should work around the parents instead of the parents working around the state!!!

Honestly, I think mild discipline is okay. Some kids are out of control and I'm definitely against beating/whipping kids, but they'll get the message eventually with the occasional physical reprimand - verbal doesn't always work! I mean, I got spanked like a lot of other kids and I'm perfectly fine. I probably needed it... lol. But it was never extreme. Kids push limits, and grounding isn't always enough. My ex-stepmom was COMPLETELY against it and groundings didn't stop me from being difficult. I actually pushed it even more because I knew she'd never hit me. On the other hand, my stepdad comes from a Japanese family where respect is a HUGE issue, so he's completely for it, just not in the extreme. He got close to hitting me a few times when he thought I was disrespecting my mom and I hated him for it for a while, but now I understand his reasons. I'm not condoning it or anything, and if I have kids, hitting them will definitely only be a last resort, but I don't necessarily think anyone who disciplines their kids in this way is doing something wrong.

I understand you, totally. Children these days don't understand you just talking to them, you need to slap them on their behinds. I caught a few whippings in my earlier days, I'm 21 now, but I truly think they work.
Now don't get me wrong, I didn't say beat them until the point of abuse; but when they act up, do what you have to do.

I think that they are so afraid that their kids will make it out to be worse than it is & then they will not have thier kids anymore, I guess that they also do not follow the
word of God, where it says spare the rod spoil the child

There is a difference btwn spank and beat. It is illegal to beat kids. If you want to smack their behind for stealing cookies from the cookie jar, go ahead. But after the age of 5, I think spankings are unneccessary.

Well I don't whip my kids, I only do that to my slaves. However, a good spanking always seems to work!

cuz its abusive, my parents used to hit me just not on my butt cuz they said it would mess up my reproductive organs, plus getting hit on the legs hurts more
