Not an answer but a poem
To a question made of verse
It's not nice out there at the moment
But tomorrow will probably be worse.

It's not that cold, yet. My garden has not shut up shop for the winter, which is quite bizarre. I've still got summer flowers flowering.

But the fog...
It's making the Americans that have managed to get over here happy. They are still convinced that we continually live in thick fog, (especially in London) with horse-drawn Hackney cabs and Sherlock Holmes patrolling Baker Street.
"Cor, luv'ya Guv'nor, it's a real pea-souper tonight, an' no mistake."

Apologies if you are high on the wild and windy moors somewhere. Doubly so if you're east of the Pennines, without a hat.

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, Whom cherubim, worship night and day,
Breastful of milk, and a mangerful of hay;
Enough for Him, Whom angels fall before,
The ox and *** and camel which adore.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him... give my heart.

Reminds me of the winters back in the 50`s when everything was as cold as could be, and crisp and even with the snow, ohhh those ice lollies we use to make on the window sills in eggcups with spoons for sticks. Yes everything was hard as iron water was like a glass stone as icicles hanging down from everything, and winds howling through the nights and through the windows. what happened to our poor world no snow where we use to have snow, and poor America especially Colorado, have been snowed to a standstill. Do miss the seasons like we use to have.!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU.ALL

Trees frozen and frosted with white
children playing with delight
Deers peeping through the forest edge
with fright.

Old man winter,
Oh, What A Night!!!

A very lovely Christmas song. Long ago indeed... I still have lilies flowering at the front of my house. Crazy weather.
