Warning TMI

I am 6 weeks pregnant. I went to the bathroom because my underwear felt wet and I had a lot of white discharge on my underwear. It does not smell and its not an infection. I have no cramping or bleeding. Is this normal to have so much discharge? Its kind of creamy and its thick. I noticed it when I was about 4 weeks, but this is the most I have ever seen. And does it have to do with my mucus plug?

Its normal. It has nothing to do with your mucus plug. And they say it gets stronger as your pregnancy progresses. But we are all different. I didn't notice any discharge until sometime into my second trimester. And now that I'm in my third I can feel when the discharge comes out. It gets me everytime because it feels like when I have my period so I run the bathroom. Fortunately it doesn't happen that often.

It's perfectly normal. There is a discharge that pregnant women have and it's not an infection. I'm 18 weeks prego myself and have the same thing. If you are really concerned about it, at you next prenatal exam talk to your doctor about it. But I'm telling you - this is my third and it always happens!

have a white discharge during pregnancy is totally normal. as long as it doesn't start to have a smell or cause itching. best thing to do is keep pantyliners handy. as for the mucus plug, you'll lose that just before labor. it quite thick and will have some blood in it. you can lose it all at once or pieces at a time. hope this helped! good luck with the pregnancy!

I have been pregnant 5 times and EVERY time there was a discharge and EVERY time I checked with my doctor and it was always normal to have the discharge. My Doc said it had to do with hormones. Do watch for foul smell and blood. If it is the plug it will regenerate (mine did) Good Luck to you! You could always call your Doc that's what they are there for and don't forget when it comes to your baby there are no stupid questions they work for you so.... use them.

Your muscus plug will most likely be in chunks but at this point it might not be alot. Are you taking lots of baths or using douches? If so stop it might be your body making too much stuff becuz its being washed out. Also don't wear panty liners that have a scent. Also it would be best for you to call your doctor and let them know whats going on. Don't let them blow you off if you are really worried insist on getting checked. I know with all my miscarriages I had a discharge that was sorta watery and like you are talking about. But as soon as I had the discharge I lost my babies. Thinks happen at different times for all women. Tell them to give you a hormon level test.

No your mucous plug is clear not opaque, and can vary in colour from colourless, to red, to brown, to yellow. In addition your plug can regenerate so it isn't a big concern.

Your discharge is either a) nutty hormones ramping up your discharge or b) a yeast infection, which I am assuming you would be able to figure out from the itching. Unless you suspect it is an STD.

I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't smell, generally that is the sign you need to worry about.

I know this is kinds personal and kinda gross, but I had the same thing with my second pregnancy. The doctor first told me it was a yeast infection and gave me medicine to treat it. After the infection was gone I still had the discharge and just went on with my life. My baby girl came out just fine in June.
