If you are at the true south pole (not the magnetic pole), then all directions are north from there. Once you step off the pole and start to walk in a circle around it, if you walk right you will be going east and if you walk left you will be going west.

No. You also have the option of going nowhere. As for the second question it depends on if you turn left or turn right. A left turn is westward and a right turn is eastward.
