Oooh, cool question. This is tough because I don't think any of the young "It" girls right now are cool. I'd go with America Ferrera...she's the only young actress I can think of that has some substance to her, and is of my ethnicity. I really like Jessica Biel, but we don't resemble each other in the slightest! LOL
The genre would be a romantic comedy. I would pick David Frankel to direct. He directed "The Devil Wears Prada," and also shot episodes of "Sex and the City." I watched the featurettes on "TDWP" DVD and he talks about how he learned all about women and the way they prefer to be shot (camera angles, etc) so I think he would do a great job.
