If you actually ride it farther than to the neighborhood bar, unlike most Harley riders.
Just kidding around, the answer to your question is no.
I mean, c'mon, it's already leaking oil isn't it?

I've got seven (7) Harley-Davidson, three (3) which are AMF years. My total mileage for all is over 100k. The old AMF models have their problems, but what would you expect when your 'parent' makes golf carts, billard tables and bowling balls.
The newer steeds, 1994 XL, 2000 FLHT, 2000 X1 Ligthning & 2004 FXDP are far away from those days. They are ridden, not just around the city. In four month of ownership on the FLHT the odometer had turned 12k, that was six riding seasons ago.
The reason they 'leak oil' is because unlike the Japanese bikes, Harley-Davidson has vertical cases, versa the horizional found in the other guys.
Yes, you can expect 25k and allot more. Enjoy the ride.
OH, by the way...........HARLEY-DAVIDSON...... is the only company owned by AMERICAN, operated by the same and the money spent to purchase them, stays in AMERICA, not sent back overseas to the mother-land, or home of the rising sun. Those countries still own this country, as do so many others. Why then would someone continue to send money that will never come back? Bets the hell out of me.
The above is not directed towards you, but rather the nye-sayers of Harley-Davidson.
ONE PROUD AMERICAN..........Viet Nam, Panama, Gulf War and before retiring, GWOT/OIF.

You'll get a lot more than that if you change the oil regularly. I change the oil on my Harley super glide religiously every 3,000 miles and I.m expecting it to keep me happy for long past the 25,000 mile mark.

I'm with adam...if you're stupid enough or rich enough to have paid that much money for an 04 Fatboy, you'd better expect 5 times that many miles!!! My 83 KZ 550 Kawasaki gave me about 215,000.

Run something like Mobil 1 in it and you'll get 100,000 miles of laughing at these wienie rice burner riding gaywads who insult a bike they'd never have the stones to ride if they lived to be 120.

i went to mmi for honda and suzuki. die-hard import fan for life. currently thrashing a drz-400sm. i work for harley-davidson now. they're awesome, overbuilt machines. no valve clearance checks, no drive chain or sprockets to replace. you have a great bike as long as you have a good mechanic. or order a service manual from the dealership and if you have basic tools and a set of torx bits (#27 mostly) you can do it yourself. the manual is set up for monkeys, i swear. i believe if you ride you need to learn these basic maint. procedures. makes you a better rider and a better customer at the dealership. the answer- hell yeah.

change the oil at least 3000 miles and the primary about the same, and u should have no problems in reaching 100,000 miles. take care of ur motor, and it will take care of u. i have a '05 sportster, and i havent had any problems. i even ride it below the freezing mark and still runs just as good as when it's 90 out.

There are only 2 ways you won't. #1: park it and not ride it. #2: crash and total it. I hope you don't do either. Mine will be at 25K by this time next year. And it's an '06.
