I know it depends on many factors like how the vehicle was driven, scheduled maintenance, etc. Just want to know the average life taking everything into consideration. All responses are appreciated!

Like you said, it depends on many factors. One of which is whether its highway or city miles. If you keep up with the maintenance you should be able to get 150k of trouble free miles. After that, a few little things will start breaking down just from use (fuel pumps, alternators, etc). I've known several people that have gotten over 250k on their Hondas. I strongly beleive that Honda and Toyota make the most reliable cars on the planet. If you check consumer reports reliability ratings you will see that this is absolutely true.

Folks are going to say all kinds of different things, but it really depends on they type of driving, mostly city, mostly highway, a veriable mix of either, that will determine the how long or how many miles the vehicle will live.

If you take lbuying habits out of the equation, anywhere form 200K to 250K miles would be a pretty good estimate, but it can be optimistic too.

There was an article a few years ago about someone putting 1 million miles (freeway miles mostly) on his Accord. So Honda gave him a brand new Accord (this generation, previous style).

Plus, all car test there engines by redlining it non-stop for weeks. I watched an episode of Fifth Gear, where they visited Ford. And Ford kept their engine redlined for 4 weeks straight!

I've got a toyota MR2, I was told the engine was "rebuilt" at 200,000 mi because the mileage was high and the transmission was as well. The transmission was botched a bit, but the engine's going strong and I abuse the hell out of it... I'm at over 250,000 mi on it and the body and original bushings and the like....

I'd say well over 200,000 miles. I have a Toyota and I'm hittin 180,000 and runs great. Keep up the maintenance on it and I wouldn't doubt 250K

most engines can go over 250,000 or more regardless of brand if maintenance is performed. if you neglect any engine it will give you problems i have had nissans with over 300k that i sold and are still running to this day then under the same brand 95000 miles and junk

300,000+ on the original head gasket and timing belt for an 88 accord is pretty damn good i think. and its still running like a dream. just keep up with what the service intrevals say and it will last for ever
