Perfect age for what? Why not?

2006-12-21 09:19:01 · answer #1 · answered by Netsbridge 3 · 0 0

Depends on the person.

Some people think their childhood was the best. Some think they hit their prime in their 'teens.

I'm 27 and am happy with the age, but I might feel the same way about 35 or 43 or 84, so I don't think I can make a judgment on the perfect age.

Whichever age allows you the most freedom with the least responsibility - so maybe 21-22? Or if you dig responsibility, then whatever age you happen to feel the greatest sense of responsibility for the greatest number of things.

But like someone else up there said, best to be happy with the age we're at, since we can't change it, and the alternative is non-existence. Besides, how people feel and what they do at a given age is greatly variable - some people are like old men in their teens, others are like kids in their 60s. Which is to say, there's no real answer, but I tried anyway.

The perfect age is the age you are at right now. Because we live in moments. This very moment is real- everything else is but a dream.

I assume you mean in a person's life, and not like the legendary "golden age" or the conventional/historical "age of reason" or anything like that.
In Renaissance Europe, it was 35 for men. The idea was that he was still young and strong to fight in wars, but wise enough from experience not to use that strength foolishly. Most other arguments about a male's age followed this general thread. That is, they are still young and strong enough to do x, but wise enough to know how and when to do it (or not to do it). The age for women was judged in light of childbearing and rearing, so it was much younger.
Nowadays? If we must generalize, I personally think 35 is a great choice for both men and women, although everyone matures differently and is changed by their own life's experiences.

Any age. Perfect in what way? For wisdom you should be over fifty; beauty - any age; fitness-under forty; happiness - usually over forty.
