I have a very expensive anticoagulant drug that was prescribed but then not needed. Someone could use it and I could offset part of the price.

I am afraid not. A one-way trip to federal prison.

No it is not legal. The reason is that once a drug leaves the pharmacy, there is no accounting for it. What's to stop you from adulterating it or replacing it with something else (not that you would). It is really for the protection of everyone. Would you want a prescription that someone took home and returned to be given to you? What if they spilled it on the floor and put it back in or sneezed on the pills? What if the emptied the syringes and filled them with saline solution? There are crazy people out there. I know it seems like a wast of expensive medicine, but better safe than sorry.

NO! Any exchange of prescription drugs is illegal. The prescription has the person's name on it IT STAYS WITH THAT PERSON ONLY!!! Selling it you would be in even more trouble.
Destroy your leftovers if you do not need them.

it is NOT legal. You have to have prescriptive authority and dispensary authority to do so. Are you a doctor? Are you a pharmacist as well? Be smart, either donate the med to a clinic, or throw it out.

no. the only way it would be legal is if you were a licensed pharmacist and the buyer had a prescription for the medicine.

Give them to someone that can't afford to buy them. It is not nice to sell something that you got free.
