My boss is having a party on the 26th and I REALLY don't want to go since I never get/take days off, and I'd like to spend it at home being lazy for once.
Problem is, I can't think of any good reasons or excuses to give him.
Any ideas?

Tell him just that. That you really appreciate his asking, but you'd rather spend some time catching up on stuff at home.

Say that you have a family thing. Lots of families celebrate on days other than the 25th so it's believable. But I think you should at least make an appearance.

DO NOT make up excuses for things like this. Go for a little while to be courteous, then say you really have to go because you had something planned. Don't be so selfish with your time. Enjoy yourself at the party, please, so others can enjoy themselves and you. Remember that your boss is putting himself or herself out to do this for you, whether it's his or her idea of a good time or not. Respect this, please, and give of yourself.

I think you should make a brief appearance and, or tell them you have a previous engagement. Be grateful. Good luck, i wouldn't want to go either.
