I think the purpose was to show that the games (in the 2nd and 3rd) movie were never a test for the people involved, they were a test for Sarah. Jigsaw wanted to see if you she could change, but since she made the game impossible to win and killed people if they passed the test, she failed. Since she failed his test she died.

No meaning, just torture, blood and killing, like the 1st and 2nd Saw and every other movie in this genre (i.e. The Hills Have Eyes and Hostel).

I don't believe it really has a meaning. I think it's just a movie, which continues the saw series

it told us that every horror movie should not have a sequel or trilogy......saw was awesome and saw 2 was great but saw 3 wasnt that good compared to the other 2 movies

I think it showed that people were too attached to emotions. The man learned to forgive Jigsaw for what he had done, but he felt justified in exacting his revenge because Jigsaw still needed to be punished. He was also too involved with his own emotions to help his wife (which is why she cheated on him, he pushed her away etc.).
