I gave my Christmas bonus to a family who needs it more than I do. I get lots at Christmas, so it feels good to turn it around.

I agree if it is possible donate coats, some children cannot even go to school as they have no warm coats. If your a Goo Goo Dolls fan, they work with getting food to homeless by having everyone at concert bring canned goods to their concerts. It goes directly to the needy, no money involved. In this day it is wonderful to see a rock band try to help oters ansd they are truly compassionate and caring, so go enjoy he concert and give back to the less fortunate. Big Boy also collects canned goods. My concern is that we need to do this all year long, not just at Christmas. People are hungry all year we must remeber that!

I have to agree. It seems like Christmas to people now a days seems like giving gifts and seeing what you can get.
There are so many people out there that need a little extra help around the holiday season and the salvation amry kettle drive is the answer.
When i put even 10 cents in the kettle I feel really good becuase I know that there is someone out there that needs it more than me.

I agree with you. I give whenever i can, which isn't an amazing amount right now because at work we are kind of slow because of the holidays. But i do give what i have, i try my best to find time to help out at the homeless shelters. I'm not worried about myself having a good Christmas i just want everyone else to have a good Christmas.

One of the big problems i think is that on November 1st, you start to see christmas merchandise everywhere and hear the music. That ticks me off, because how exciting can it get when you're bombarded for two months. I'm not answering your question, i just want to say thank you.
Thank you to all those who give freely all year round and at christmas.
A couple (who wanted to remain annonymous) donated 250$ and 200lbs of baby food to our local food bank last week. I think that is tremendous, and i say thank you!
yes, the true meaning does exist. you just have to look hard enough to find it. As usual, it's all the annonymous people of the world that understand it and keep the spirit of St. Nicholas alive!

This year for the first time in many years I was able to adopt 2 girl angels from our local Angel Tree and got each of them an outfit and something for their hair, I dropped a little something in the red Salvation Army kettle and today I gave a couple of dollars to helped abused children.
Merry Christmas to Everybody!

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Its not about presents or santa its all about Jesus coming down on Earth to save us. The reason we give and receive presents is bc Jesus wanted us to get the presents instead of Him bc he is such a giving God!
Hope I answered your question! Have a very Merry Christmas!

I believe the same as you do . I think that Christmas is about giving to those who are less fortunate than you. There is always some one who is worse off than you are.

christmas is supposed to be a celebration of jesus birth....presants and giving to others is a nice gesture but that in itself has taken away from the true meaning of christmas.
