It's cold outside. It's Christmas-time. It's not right for people to be living on the streets, cold and hungry...while we're all in our warm homes eating, drinking, and being merry. I live about 15 minutes from Chicago and I want to help.

Best to assist a shelter or other organisation for your safety. It is so sad though, I know what you mean.

Volunteer at one of the shelters. Bring your used coats and clothing. Get clothes from your neighbors. Did you know that the majority of homeless people are families/mothers and their children, not just the alcoholics, mentally ill and addicts?
