yeah in my mind its not racism - its preference. im okay with having black guy friends but i have never been atrtacted to black guys therefore i dont date them. you would assume ppl would respect my taste but black guys will write me off as racist even when i try to explain it to them and some white girls i know will do the same just because they like black guys. its not like i woke up one day and was like "screw blk guys" i just do not find them attractive. everyone says i'll grow out of it but ive been this way since i first began to like guys (im almost 17). what do you think? am i crazy and racist? or is it just my aquired taste?

No, you're not crazy. We try to make ourselves comfortable in this life, and if it makes you unhappy to be with black men, then you have all the right in the world to do as you prefer.
You are not hurting anyone .... are you? You don't say what your family input is ... but I have issues of my own like that and try as I might to do the more ordinary thing, I simply cannot... and I would hate it if anyone tried to force me.
After all, you are a person, are you not? Well, then ... people are different! That is all.

You don't sound racist, especially since you're mostly black. It's your prefernce. I'm white and I prefer ethnic guys as I lke black hair and tanned skin. My ex-boyfriend who was also my first (and an mentally handicapped emotionally abusive douchebag who was in his late 20s but behaved like a 12 year old) is Chinese, so he had black hair and tanned skin. He's quite attractive, but a complete idiot. My current boyfriend who is lovely and only has a mild disability like me has tanned skin and black-grey hair (even though he's only 28). He's white British and a quarter Hungarian, which is the main reason his skin is tanned, and he is very attractive.

Would have to agree with the poster above me.. I question your motivation for posting this question and suggest it is becasue you want a lot of white people to respond saying ".. that's fine and that's great and good for you.. or whatever.."
I believe you are sufffering from self-loathing.. the mere fact that you have to emphasise the fact that you are only part Black is indicative of this...
At the end of the day, no matter how much you care to present yourself as non-black, part-black or only attracted to white guys... I would love to see how you get along walking hand in hand with your white boyfriend in a place like Russia, the Deep South and many parts of Eastern Europe.
I do not question your taste in men.. just your motication for asking this question, which is quite frankly ... bizarre!!

No that doesn't make you a racist! You're just attracted to whom you're attracted to. But I'd say don't write off all black guys because someday you might meet a black guy who is right for you! Just keep that in mind!

I totally agree with Human Rights, sounds like there is something in yourself that you dont like? I would reccomend thinking about a self awareness course or some counselling, seriously, I'm wondering if the family member who made you"part black" has let you down in some way because you are judging people of a certain race. You know, I never found blonde guys particularly "my type" but I dated them if i liked them as people and guess what, my son is blonde like his daddy, like your kids will be part black like their mommy! You need to deal with this issue, I'm not giving you a hard time pal, just pointing out a couple of things! x

It's just your personal taste. Although you might meet a black guy some day that will change your mind...

Everyone has their own personal taste. There are black guys that are not attracted to black girls. You are not alone.

What is your true intention in posting a dumb & selfish question like that? I myself find more black guys, especially from the Islands more attractive than the plain, non cultured white male. (Yes I am a mostly white female...in fact, I am all white) Do you think that all black men, will find you attractive...probably not.

Just preference. I have a friend who's the same way. Don't bother telling people to make them understand. You are the way you are. You're fine. :)
