I craved pinneapple with my second pregnancy. I had it with at least two meals a day and my son came out healthy. So go right now to the store and buy a big thing of pinneapple and eat some for me too!!!
About pinneapple inducing labor: you would have to eat a whole lot of it (like someone said above 10 whole pinneapples in one sitting) for it to throw you in labor. If was as easy as eating some pinneapple to go into labor everyone would be doing it and we would all know all about it. Since I doubt you are gonna eat enough to go into labor: your safe hon. eat up!

Pineapple While Pregnant

Yes, it's fine. Pineapple does contain an enzyme called bromelain which can soften the cervix and hypothetically bring on labor but the few times this has been studied there have been mixed results with no definitive proof that this works. However each pineapple contains very small amounts, you'd probably have to eat several large pineapples raw for it to make any difference.

Also, this enzyme is only found in fresh pineapple, not canned. I say have a bowl of canned pineapple and indulge your craving.

There is a protease in pineapple that may induce labor, but you have eat a LOT of it. Something on the order of 10 whole pineapples in one sitting.

No scientific or medical studies have been done on this subject.

As with most things, moderation is key.

This book is a must read for any woman trying to get pregnant. I was devastated and so was my husband after being told by my fertility specialist at age 38 that I had no option but to consider adoption or donor eggs (according to my doctor I was out of eggs and gave me 4% chance of getting pregnant and a 2% chance of carrying a baby to full term). After much research and dozens of hours reading infertility related articles and posts online, I have found this book! I never believed in anything alternative to western medicine and thought all the other stuff like Chinese medicine was a hoax. But I was soon glad to be wrong as I followed step by step guidelines. After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy. Nine months after that I did everything in the book again and after 2 months of trying I got pregnant again and gave birth to another perfect little boy. I would recommend anyone with an open mind to read this book. It just might be the answer to your prayers.
