I still love Monopoly.

My absolute favorite is the ancient asian game of go. Easy to learn, nearly impossible to master, great handicapping system.
For more social situations where not everyone plays go or we want to play as a group there's Apples to Apples, Boggle, Blokus, Settlers of Cataan, and Zebmondo (a game one can play w. the icehouse pieces from looney labs). I was also a big AD&D player for years, but haven't played that in a long time.

My favorite games are Clue, Eureka, Monopoly and Pit, which is great for large groups. Card games would be Euchre, Hearts and Pinochle.

Chess & GO I like games that have complex gameplay. I also like Risk,Monopoly and Clue. And if Dungeons and Dragons counts that too.
