I am 11 weeks and just curious when I can find out my baby's gender.

An ultrasound can be done at any time, but most doctors will not be fairly certain until 16+ weeks. Even then it is possible for them to make a mistake or be unable to tell if the baby is uncooperative. A test for chromosomal abnormalities can also give you more certain answers, but is not done unless there is a problem, and of course, the only way to know for absolutely sure is to see what plumbing the baby has when it comes out.

Good luck!

I just had an ultrasound done at 17 weeks and 2 days (not by my OBGYN, but at the medical ultrasound facility where they only do ultrasounds so they are supposed to be much more accurate than when an ultrasound is done in your Dr.'s office) However, she could not tell because the baby was still a little too small. She would only admit that she "didn't see any boy parts" but it wasn't enough to confirm or deny gender.

I'm supposed to go back at 21 weeks and she assured me that they would be able to tell at that point.

I think boys are easier to identify in the early weeks. I think girls are a little trickier :)

I just found out the other day that I am having a boy and I was a day shy of being 16 weeks but the tech said that you can sometimes tell earlier if the baby isn't crossing their legs.
