So, being a staunch conservative and politically interested, I cruise these boards everyday.

Will someone please tell me why we go from arguing fact to posting just mean and angry attacks on the USA, Bush and other members of this forum?

How about some well thought out opinions and factual debates that don’t include calling out people by name and ridiculing them personally?

Do you all think we could do that?

Wow, a thumbs down!!! Who possibly could be against this suggestion? Just my point exactly.

I really couldn't agree with you more. Problem is these little kids on here who have nothing to say except angry little tantrums kind of drown out those of us who would like to have those factual debates you spoke of. Until they grow up or we do something on our own, it looks like it probably won't happen. I will do my best to answer the question in the most mature and fact-driven way possible, but I can't speak for everyone. Thanks and have a nice day.

The Bush campaign in 2000 kicked of with a loss in New Hampshire. Directly after that Bush/Rove went on a slander spree against fellow GOPer John McCain (starting in SC) accusing him of being crazy, soft on defense, abandoning veterans and of having an illegitimate black child. It turned his campaign around and set the tone for plitics for the next 8 yrs
McCain asked for an apology and never got one, George wouldnt admit to any wrongdoing as he has done for the past 6 years
These 2 things are what the leader of the freeworld has accomplished while in office. He has set the tone made the attacks and devided Americans worse then any man or issue has before.

Unfortunately, the News Board trolls made their way over here before the message board shutdown. Fortunately, it appears Yahoo is suspending offenders.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have real political discussion. There's far too many personal attacks, and this section is by far the worst.

That's great! EXPOSING LIBERALS just exemplified all of the points you mentioned in your post! I don't think this is the forum for in depth debate on anything really. It seems like a lot of people make inflammatory posts just to get a rise out of people.

I totally agree with you. I have noticed that most people get caught up in the moment and allow their feelings to get in the way of good decisions. Just look at the last election. The Dems totally took advantage of the Cindy Sheehan mentality and lost all semblance of thought and acted straight from the gut. Most of the posts of negativity don't even know completely what the big picture is. Have they ever looked at history? Yes it does repeat itself. Those who do not know what history implies are doomed to repeat it. Talk about a real Groundhog Day. Thanks for being a breath of fresh air in a normally stinky list of rants and raves.

Admirable goal, but look at the first response you got. There will always be people like him.

Isn't it amazing how many people on here "completely agree" with you and then go to say "but the god damn liberals are crazy"

Are you questioning of the editorial or op-ed section? it quite is the place the writers are allowed to take facets on a controversy, somewhat of having to modern the two facets as interior of something of the information.

from another poster but it is just perfect.

Maybe. But not today. Not at the start of my Christmas Vacation from work. Conseravatives and Bush are dictating fools who don't know how to unscrew a lightbulb
