Why did she quit making ska music(or whatever you'd call it)?
It's not like none of her songs weren't making it big. She had a few hits when she was the old gwen.

Gwen Stefani did not part from No Doubt she just decided that she wanted to do some solo projects. She's very talented
singer, writer, designer (clothes, shoes, handbags) Most artist
grow and mature and make the decision to try some solo projects---ex: Micheal Jackson/Jackson five, Beyonce/ Destiny's Child, Bruce Springsteen, Ricky Martin/Menudo, Bob Dylan

She didnt quit her ska-band (No Doubt was the name of the band)
She was juz taking a break + became solo artist, and so the rest of the bands members (on hiatus)
However, according to some articles I've read few months back, No Doubt will be retunring in the year 2008, for new album/tour dates etc.

Alot of it has to do with her maturation as an artist also. She's exploring new musical venues, and also pulling inspiration for songs from her new experiences (mainly motherhood). Same thing has happened to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Once they got off the junk and started seeing the world through different perspectives, their music and sound changed.

She never quit! She had to take a break to marry Gavin and then another whenever she had Kingston-but she continued to write throughout these times! Now she is just experimenting with different tunes that's all! By the way......she's my sister! Different moms-same dad.
