There is no one answer. Each person will have a persona belief, which may be fueled by a religon or spiritual system.
The answer that best works it for each person to find what is fillfilling to them, what makes life worth wild and worth living, and do that. If it is self endugance, then that is your reason for living, if it is service, God, humanity, pure exsitiance.
No one can answer the quiestion becouse we must all choose a belief which works for us, while I have a personal belief in the service for God, that may not work for you.
The reason for living is to discover what life is worth. It can't be achived till death, as the only way to evaluate your life is reflect on what has been done with it. My advice would be to try and achive goals and dreams which will allow you to feel like you have lived a fullfilling and worthwild life on your death bed. (What mark will you leave?)
There is a rwason for everyone, but it can never be understood while alive.
That the best I can do, without trying to sell any one idea or theory, I hoep it helps.

If you mean on a universal level on why we as humans are living here on earth, then you are asking a very good question. I don't hold any solid belief in any religious or scientific theories of creation vs. evolution, because both have holes in their hypotheses, but I do consider on both of their thoughts. I sometimes speculate that we're made from some "force being(s)", and placed here on earth as a test to learn how to evolve ourselves into higher life forms, but that's just a personal theory of mine.

Hmm...for starters...it sounds better than the alternative (unless, of course, you are in a lot of physical pain).
