I don't know if anyone does this before child birth, I would guess there are going to be some that do (maybe 10% or 1 out of 10) as for safety shaving will probably be more safe because you have control of the razor. When waxing it's a yank and the possibility of an infection because of the nature of waxing. Hope this helps.

Being unable to see that particular area of my anatomy (I miss my belly button, too) I can't shave there, and while waxing may be fine, my OB suggested that I allow "Mr. Chaplain" to become "Mr. Freud" for a while to help prevent UTI's and yeast infections during pregnancy. Some hospitals do this as routine, others offer it as part of the birthing package, you should ask yours about this.
Besides the healing recovery from the birth, do you really want to combine that with the insane making itching of re-growing hair? If it is of major concern to you, you can always ask your partner to give you a hand reaching around. Have fun, and good luck!

A lot of women go in for a wax about 2 weeks before delivery. You could also have your husband help you out if you wanna shave. I have never heard , seen, or experienced a hospital that shaves you before your delivery. It is really up to you. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

I would go with waxing, but it is VERY painful! The good thing is that it lasts a lot longer and it is by far less dangerous than shaving yourself. Especially at the stage that you seem to be at which you probably can't see your private. Hope this doesn't sound strange, but you may shave and have your man help you. I'm sure he will be more than willing to help you. I know how you feel, I do the same!

Either is safe. I shave just because I dont want to have the pain of waxing. Go for it if it makes you feel better.

I have had 3 children and never ever have the doctors shaved me down there. I think they would appreciate it if you do have it trimmed up. Do what I do. Have your significant other do the trimming. I am pregnant and will not be able to see down there in a couple of months so he will have to do it for me. Although he had done it way before I was even pregnant. Good luck to you and congratulations!

Either is fine to do. The only thing it wouldn't be advised is if you were at risk for preterm labour (the waxing & shaving can cause blood to rush to the area). I would suggest waxing and getting a pro to do it because you probably can't see down their well enough to do it yourself. Good Luck!!

i had 2 babies and never had to shave!!
i never heard of anyone shaving completely before giving birth?
But if it makes you feel better and you really want to do it. shaving is safer and your partner can help you.it's a lot easier for him to shave than to wax!

Before I gave birth to my kids (I had them vaginally) I shaved, Waxing puts pressure on the fetus.
