If all of you are poor, college students I think that $1 - $5 for each person should be sufficient.

If you're in high school and don't have to worry about money, $10 - $15 is good.

If you're in a very successful career and can afford to spend more, then $20 - $35 is probably good.

You shouldn't really put a price on it. If you find an awesome gift for them then get it whatever the price, as long as you can afford it. No one cares about the price, it's the thought that counts. Sometimes a $3 gift is a much better fit for someone than a $50 gift.

That's exactly why I try to limit my friends. (sorry, folks!) People can tell that I love them, but, frankly, I can't afford their friendship. And I suspect that may be why one of my friends keeps getting sick. Maybe I'll just tell her: "No presents!" There. Can't we just hang out and have fun and make some great memories that are Free?
