The game is AMAZING. It takes a while to get used to the new battle system since it's not REALLY turn based...you set these things called "gambits" and the computer basically takes care of everything for you. You also have to buy licences for everything you use (weapons, armour, magic) so you need to have the licence before you get the stuff or get the stuff then get the licence (it IS sort of complicated, but once you figure it out you'll be flying) The graphics are incredible. What I've found though, is that you'll be going along beating monsters relatively easilily, then all of a sudden, the monsters will become impossible, and you'll have to go back and build up your levels for quite a while. Then they'll become easy again, then impossible. This happens quite alot. All in all though. Totally worth the money.

The battle system is awesome. Its like so fun after you play it. But one thing I don't get use to is the camera control in the beginning. But really, it's an amazing game. Worth the price and the time to play it. The storyline is great with lots of funny stuff in it. Just buy it, it's awesome.

If you like the more "real-time" kind of battle system, then you will love the system in Final Fantasy 12.
I don't really like the real time stuff, but in my case, i still love this game.

its so much better in some ways. however, if you get in a fight with a monster you cant possibly beat, its horrible news for you. cause running away isnt as easy as it used to be. not at all. now you have to run run run and hope they dont hit you while youre running. but if you get to the point where anything you run into is dead, it becomes quite fun. you can see all the monsters and stuff, so its not like your running along some map and then suddenly youre in a battle. you can tell when youre going to have to fight something.

I LOVE the new battle system. No more random encounters. . .YAY!!!!! Also, you can use the environment to your advantage (ex. If you are using a ranged weapon, you can hide behind rocks, etc.). Also, you can hold in R2 and flee if necessary. And the gambit system ROCKS! I highly recommend it, it's the best FF game yet, and I love them all!

i like the game, however it does seem like more work to actually play it compared to the other games in the series

first time I play, i hate it!
The more i get used to it, though.. The more i love it..
Now, i simply think it's one of the best series.
