If anything get a X-box, cheap and has a lot of great games for you to experience. I wouldn't suggest a PS3 yet, not until next year anyways. New systems are always buggy and have a lot of flaws manufacturing didn't catch or just waiting to see what comes up before they can fix the next rotation of out going PS3's. Wait a year before you buy a newly launched system. PS3 is having problems with playback and its CPU processing chip.

Think about it, a Blue-Ray Disc player costs $1000, the PS3 costs $700 and can play Blue-Ray discs. But you probably don't care about that, you care about the games right? Then No, don't there really aren't any good games out now for PS3. Go for the 360 (Dead Rising, Gears of Wars, Saint's Row) great games, or if your the energetic type that just likes to have fun get the Wii, it's friggin awesome and will keep you occupied for a while. It can even play your GameCube games.

It matters are you a person who plays a lot. If you are buy the X-Box 360 instead because it is cheaper. I wouldn't buy a PS3 or an X-Box 360 because it is to expensive and I'd rather buy more games for my PS2

No because they are too high, and I heard that they have been experiencing some problems. (such as screens locking up and the inability to play PS2 games)

If you have the money, sure. It's a great system (I drool sometimes thinking of the power), and if blu-ray catchs on, you'll save yourself some money on a player.

No, it's way too expensive for something that will be obsolete in 5 years.
