Please tell me you just saw that they are trying to loosen the restrictions on ads and campaigns.

I vote that politicians can only campaign by snail mail...Who's with me?

Not sure if you saw the ads from either Va or Tenn this past election.....but they were BAD!
There seems to be a new trend.....these ads do not come from the politicians themselves...the come from things like the "Republican National Committee" ( I think that's what it was called)....how clever, that way the politician still has "clean hands"...GMAB!

Yet BOTH were pulled....Hmmmm...I wonder why?????

And this will be a brutal election!....if you thought those ads were bad, the ones we will be seeing soon .....will probably be much worse!

While it would be nice to not have to listen to the crap flung during every commercial break, limiting candidates to snail mail would not be in the countries best interests either. most people (me included) just throw away anything that even looks like junk mail. This would lead to a less informed electorate than we currently have. I am in favor of restricting candidates ads to what the person stands for, no negative ads allowed. at least that way the people would at least have some idea where the candidate stands on the issues.

Just a thought here. If they can only campaign by snail mail and they get elected, and if they don't live up to their campaign promises can they be prosecuted for mail fraud?

I'd let them use radio and TV with one stipulation. They can only talk about what THEY have done and what THEY want to do. If they talk about what the other guy has, hasn't or proposes to do, --they are immediatly taken out and shot.

Merry Christmas

I have a simple solution to campaign ads. Its called TIVO. Actually, I haven't bought a TIVO yet. VHS works to. Just record everything and watch it later. Skip the commercials. They have the right to SAY what the want. I have the right not to listen.

not right to limit free speech.

seems to me people only complain about political advertising in campaigns when their opponent has more money in which to advertise.

They all have the same message: "Vote for me...I'm always right and I never lie".
